I am taking off today , Tuesday April 5th, from Toronto to Rome, the start of a journey that will take me from there to Verona . I will attend Vinitaly which by all accounts is the most important wine trade show in Italy. It lasts 4 days and attracts people from all over the world.
I will be looking at some good Northern Italian wines (Lombardy, Piemont, Tuscany , Veneto etc.) and extra virgin olive oil. Later i will visit Parma in search of exclusive hams derived from local breeds of pigs not found elsewhere. Finally to Sicily where land, sky and sea meet to provide abundant goodness and that much sought after “farniente”.
My search is for authentic products of the sea and land made by people whom love the fruit of their labour. Thanks to today’s world we are given the priviledge to partake in the feast. I will keep you posted on my progress.
